Theres going to be a great deal of kids at my wedding. I kind of wanted to keep it to 12years old and older… but I was talked into letting family bring their young kids. I’m a preschool teacher and have a real softspot for kids.. and easily got suckered in.

Becuase I am a preschool teacher - I dont know WHY this is seeming so difficult!
I want to set up a kids corner, with a table with some activities..

I dont want anything messy (crayons only, no markers or paint).. and all I can think of so far is crayons and paper. That will keep kids busy for what? all of 5 minutes? .. There will be about 6 kids there under 8, and about 10 kids there between 8-14. I’m kind of looking for something for those kids to do too. (3 of them are my siblings, ages at the time will be 8, 10, and 11 - and I know they’re not going to go dance and stuff)..

(its a beach wedding… not formal, more casual/cocktail like - and we rented a pavilion that we have to set up and decorate ourselves).. If I’m able to give the kids a good amount of space (room for a table and some floor space) I’ll probably also give them puzzles..

I was also thinking of like goodie bag things that i used to get as a kid..you know like those games where you try to get the little silver ball into the hole? its like a maze?..and one of those like paddles where the bouncy ball is attached by a string and you need to keep hitting it…
I’m praying that it wont rain on this date..the wedding starts at 7 and is in the summer so we’ll have at least an hour and a half of daylight where the kids can actually be outside.. and hopefully the place will be well lit enough so that they can even stay outside after it gets dark (The place is very opened, lots of windows.. with a huge wrap around porch type thing - so the kids would ALWAYS be in view.. and for younger kids obviously parents need to be there if they’re outside)..

Soo.. any other suggestions? While it would be beneficial for weather to be great, i need backup activities incase weathers not great!! Something not messy that doesnt require constant supervision.

It’s a very very difficult dilemma for me but I would have to say that personally I’d rather a Catholic School. We all know what kids are like. They are impetuous, naive and incapable of taking responsibility. But when this mentality comes in the form of Islam, and if placed within a secular/western community, you get a very very volatile cocktail. Such is the militant, intolerant and imposing nature of Islam.
My atheist friends! I appreciate your concerns and jest in relation to pedophillia but realize this:

In Islam there is a prejudice against representing the human form. The prohibition on picturing their prophet who was only another male mammal is apparently absolute. So is the prohibition on pork or alcohol and in some Muslim societies, music or dancing. If a Muslims claims the right to make you abstain from any of these then they offer the clearest possible proof of an aggressive intent.

How do we punish kids this young maybe community service every weekend for the next 5 yrs at a burns hospital they obviously have plenty of time on their hands.
I know how I would like to punish them but it is probably against their human rights.
Also do you think their parents should be made to pay the damage.

I often see posts complaining about airline travel. Since deregulation in the industry and fierce competition to move people at bargain basement prices; the airlines have worked hard to survive. To do this they downsized, merged, added seats, cut extra services, and employees have also taken cuts in pay and benefits. A first class fare in most instances still get the royal treatment; but cabin class is most likely flying cheaper than bus or train fare. Given this, the flight attendants whom are really there for the safety of the passengers spend a great deal of time seeing to your comfort, waiting on passengers wanting cocktails and watching the kids for Mom and Dad who are so tired from getting everyone to the airport on time have decided to take a two hour nap. The flight crews are professional and do their best to get you to your destination speedily and comfortably all for $99 each way from NY to Disney World. So 1 to 5 stars what do you expect and what is 5 star service these day’s?
