REAL Blond asked:
I need a cocktail dress in a solid red or white. I went to Macy’s to find one and I had no clue what I should have been looking for. What do cocktail dresses actually look like? Are they like casual/semi-formal sun dresses or formal dresses with a different look?
Occasion… Miss Los Angeles County Pageant…
Opening Act dress… :o)
Can cocktail dresses be long? I feel better in long dresses or at least past the knee…

I think theyre more more ’sundressy’, i know cocktail dresses arent in the ‘prom dress’ category though, im thinking more of a semi-formal sundress

cocktail dresses are usually short and flirty. formal dresses are like gowns and are usually long and have more embellishment to them.

cocktail is less formal than a prom dress…prom dresses are normally long and cocktail dresses are typically short and are to be worn to a fancy dinner
They are def not sun dresses
Check these dresses out…anything similar is going to be a cocktail dress

I a cocktail dress isn’t as dressy as a prom dress. Macys prom dresses don’t really look like prom material to me. Whats the occasion?
But I would wear these dresses =&pbo=6001766&P=1=&pbo=6001766&P=1
(thats looks kind of pink whats do you think?)=&pbo=6001766&P=2

I think both are dressy but in different ways.
Cocktail dress is dressy but could be sexy, flirtatious, sassy.
Formal dress is dressy but elegant, formal, could still be **** but in a more conservative way.
