My friends and I would like to have egg nog with alcohol for our little Christmas party, but I really don’t want to make it from scratch (college student). Can I just add alcohol to some that I bought at the store, and how much should I add? Also, which would be better: rum, bourbon, or brandy? I’ve seen all of these liquors in recipes online.

A few years ago, I picked up a small recipe magazine at the grocery checkout aisle. Kraft, Betty Crocker, I dont remember who printed it, but one of the recipes in the book was for an egg nog bread pudding with cherry bourbon sauce. My family loved it and is asking for it again this year, but I cant find the recipe. I know i made it ahead of time and that it was refrigerated overnight and the sauce was a can of cherry pie filling, butter and bourbon–can you help? Many thanks and happy holidays!
