I’ve been to Morocco, Ibiza and Goa. They’re old news. I wanna grab my passport(US), my guitar, a mid-sized pack and $3000 to last up to 3 months. A location where I might pick up a few gigs or where street musicians are still welcome is a plus! I toured all over Spain this Summer. Spain just ain’t the same since they outlawed roaming street musicians. For example, Barcelona’s streets used to come alive at 11pm every night, and party ’till dawn. No more! Starting last year only a few musicians get permits to play, and they are assigned a “performance spot” on the sidewalk. All the tourists who used to cruise the Rambla and drink/party at the “Botella” bonfires on the beach all night are now herded into bars and nightclubs by the Gardia Urbana before midnight. Most other major Spanish cities have done this too, Malaga being the exception. Madrid is somewhere in between. Are there free and laidback places left??Please share your secret places with me. I may never get this chance again!!

I love Guatemala, Central America. You might want to look up Lake Atitlan / absolutely gorgeous!!, Antigua, Panajachel, Tikal, Peten, there are sooooo many places, you could also go from Guatemala and backpack through Central America all the way to Costa Rica, let me know if I can give you any more info.

    Good Luck!
