The time ;ag between getting drunk and being hungover is the same no matter when you drink. My advice to you would be to start drinking around noon, and drink either beer or wine in a slow fashion so that you get gradually drunk. Not only does it not lead to passing out by 3pm, it also leads to a very pleasant drunk that can last for many hours.
