I recently bought a burgundy cocktail dress (on a great discount!) because I was planning on going to a wedding or 2 this summer. Unfortunately, due to work, I had to cancel my plans of going to the weddings and receptions. So now I have a dress, but no where to wear it to.

The dress looks very close to this:

My boyfriend doesn’t really see my dilemma, so I’m asking for your help. Aside from wedding receptions, where can I wear this dress and not look completely overdressed?
(I’m not into a dancing scene, so please suggest otherwise)
Thanks in advance!

This dress will be great for a night out with your boy. Get dressed up for your anniversary. It’s also great for any kind of semi-formal events ie: sweet sixteens, holiday parties at work…etc

That’s a pretty dress I’m sure your guy would like to see you in. How about when you go out on a date, eat at a classy restaurant and go to places you’ve never been to.. it’s your chance to dress to the nines! You can also go clubbing with your girlfriends in this too. Good luck and have fun!

Date with your man, friend’s birthday party (if it’s kind of dressy), or another wedding.

If its on a great discount, and you don’t mind using it for a ‘less formal’ occassion, see if you can fit a halloween costume around the dress. I used this to get some extra use out of high school dance dresses that I didn’t buy on such a great discount!

Just like accessories can dress a look up, they can easily make a look more casual. Start with a solid black wrap, a simple jet black stud earrings, and flats (heels make things dressier). This would be nice for a casual restaurant date with your guy. Also if you don’t have a black wrap and cute black cardigan would work too. Hope this helps, a dress like that works for a nice dinner out with your man, drinks at an up scale lounge with your girlfriends, or even something for work, like an event. Hope this helps you out the dress sounds very nice!
