We’re a group of 25-28 yr old girls, from Minnesota, looking for a cabin to rent for a girl’s week this summer. We’re looking for a place to lay out and tan, go swimming, and have several cocktails. A bon fire at night would be great. None of us have ever been to Canada and have no idea where to even begin to look for a place. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!!

sorry, i don’t really know where minnesota is, but if you are more on the east coast, then you could go up to the great lakes (ontario, superior, eerie, huron, michigan- but michigan’s in the us…) and rent a cabin there. I hear it’s lovely.
If you’re more central, then there are lots of lakes all over the prairies, and they’re quite flat and very warm during the summer.
west coast- come up to vancouver, baby! it’s gorgeous here- but more beaches, not so many cabins. you could always head over to the oakanogen or something through.
Whichever you choose, i really hope you enjoy your vacation up here. I love living in Canada.

If you were to travel east to International Falls and cross into Canada at that border crossing would be my suggestion. This area of Ontario has many lakes and holiday type accommodations.
Look up for all kinds of information.
Hope you have a great time and plan to comeback soon

Check out the area around Kenora, Ontario which is on Lake of the Woods in northwestern Ontario. There are many cabins for rent and resorts in the area. Kenora is a tourist city and is actually home to many celebrities in the summer who have million dollar cabins on their own personal islands in the lake. Kenora also has bars and restaurants.
Or check out Whiteshell Provincial Park in Manitoba (near the Ontario border and just north of Minnesota). I’ve stayed at a couple different resorts in the park and they have all been wonderful. You can rent everything from simple cabins to luxury cabins with big screens and jacuzzis. Names that come to mind are Jessica Lake Lodge, Inverness Falls Resort, and Betula Lake Resort. Check out the link below for a full list. In Whiteshell there are no bars (so bring your own booze) and few restaurants.
Have a great summer!
